Located in Williamsburg-- the most vibrant and eclectic neighborhood in all of New York--Brooklyn Winery is one of the best in the state. The joint venture of Brian Leventhal and John Stires offers an exciting medley of choices for your next night-out in the city, such as tours of the winery, delicious wine tastings, an on-site wine bar with an excellent selection of wines, and their brand new restaurant.
Conor McCormack has led the winemaking efforts ever since the project began. Nowadays, they boast an annual production of more than 8,000 cases of more than ten varietals. Their grapes are sourced from the best growers in the country, which allows the winery to showcase a wide variety of wine styles. They select only the best vineyards by carefully analyzing soil types and grape varieties.
Their tours are well thought-out and fun-filled and entail a 30-minute stroll along with a 30-minute tasting session during which you can explore the entire winemaking process from the very moment the grapes arrive at the winery up until the moment the wines are bottled. They also offer intimate tours on select days with a 10% discount on all retail wines when you tag them on an Instagram photo during the tour.
At their wine bar, you can relish on a wide selection of award-winning bottles, such as the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon - Sonoma, the 2012 Pinot Noir - Los Carneros, and the 2013 Riesling. Additionally, the bar offers a myriad of other options including Chardonnay, Rose, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and several others. As you might agree, no wine bar would be complete without a happy hour, which happens between 5 pm and 8 pm, Monday through Friday. But the fun doesn't stop there because every Wednesday is Half-Off Bottle Night - enjoy any bottle at half the price when you order two items off their food menu.
The most recent addition to the winery is its colorful restaurant, embellished with radiating light beams and a lovely skylight. Revel in unique and sophisticated dishes put together by the Executive Head Chef, Michael Gordon, and his team to complement the winery's vast portfolio. On top of the tasty and creative small plates, the menu includes finger-licking level items like the Hanger Steak with Smoked Creamed Greens, Pan Seared Skate with Squash Agrodolce, and Root Beer Glazed Pork Ribs with Heirloom Baked Beans.
If you are local, they also offer a Reserve Member program with exclusive benefits - free glasses of wine, take-home bottles, tickets to the winery tours and tasting sessions, wine bottles at the bar, and up to $500 in gift cards.
Brooklyn Winery houses not only fantastic wines but it is also the perfect venue for your next event, from weddings, rehearsal dinners, showers to corporate activities, graduations, birthday parties, or simply your next get-together with friends.
